ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Sibulele Mvana is the Managing Director at NetEquity Networks which is an infrastructure sharing entity that is in partnership with Facebook. The partnership aims to bring high speed internet access to rural communities around the world. Through this initiative, she is engaging with various global telecommunications organizations including sharing thought leadership around telecommunications with entities in Spain, Kenya and Pakistan, to name a few.
Prior to NetEquity Networks, she worked for an international engineering firm Aurecon, where she headed the Energy Unit. Her technical competence, leadership credentials and futuristic approach to modern day energy & telecommunications challenges enabled her to lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver international projects. She implemented turn around profitability strategies, did business development on the African continent and resource management. Her focus became how to embed 4iR technologies in the energy sector including smart cities. She presented at various local and international conferences on the energy landscape transition and possible opportunities and challenges that the sector could experience.
Sibulele Mvana is an engineering professional (ECSA) who holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town (UCT), Management Development Programme (MDP) and an MBA from Stellenbosch University and an Executive Development Programme from Henley Business School.
She has served on the various Boards on social and ethics committees and investment committees. She serves as a telecommunications advisor to National Treasury. Sibu is the cofounder of Zingce Technology Group.
