About the speaker:


Mr Abu Addae is a qualified actuary, co-founder and CEO of LifeCheq, an innovative financial advisory firm working with professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners. Before co-founding LifeCheq, he was a senior executive at Old Mutual and a member of the Executive Committee of the Emerging Markets business - one of the youngest to be appointed at this level in the company's 170 year history. He held responsibility for Treasury, Capital Allocation and Shareholder Investments for a balance sheet exceeding R250bn and played a key role in a number of strategic developments at the company between 2010 and 2015. Amongst other roles, he built a team of 40 top professionals from scratch, developed and led the establishment of the company's Asset-Liability Management division, established a treasury team for emerging markets business and led the establishment company's first tier 2 bond issuance and bank debt program since 2005. He also holds a Masters Degree in Financial Mathematics and is a CFA Charterholder. Abu is a proud UCT alumnus.
